I desperately need just 10 minutes of down time. Just to sit and breathe in and out without jumping up every 2 1/2 seconds to put back whatever Lance yanked off the shelf.
Just 10 minutes.
So I put him in his crib with his stuffed monkey. He's not too thrilled about being left alone, but y'all, I need some air.
Am I mean?

No, you are an excellent mother. A bad mother is one who does not know her limits and snaps because she didn't take her 10 minute break.
Nope not at all! I do it from time to time. You have to have a break now and then.
Good for you!!! No, you are NOT a bad mother. In fact, you're doing BOTH of you a favor by taking some time.

Maybe Lance needed some time to be by himself too. ;)
It's much better to put him in his crib and have a few minutes to calm down than stay with him and do something you'd regret, like yell.
Trust me on this one, I know from experience. I've done both and the former is much preferable!
