My son rolled over for the first time, and I missed it.
Wah.
Hubby and I were running around like chickens with our heads cut off, getting ready to leave for a church function last night. Lancelot was having tummy time in the living room, in plain sight of us, and he chose the exact moment that both of us were looking the other direction to roll over onto his back.
Sneaky little kid.

It's so hard when you "miss" something. When I used to direct a day care, I'd tell the workers that if they saw a child do something for the "first time" they should NOT tell the parents. Parents felt guilty already about leaving them there...to think they missed something would be horrible...so it was our "rule" to celebrate it inside and wait until the parent told us what they had seen...then celebrate with them.
Hooray though that your little guy rolled over!!
Blessings.

This comment is for Lancelot. Would you pass it on to him?
Lancie baby, you are a first child. Your mom and dad's pride and joy. They love you. Would you mind terribly much performing great acts of advancement (GAA -- in baby language) when your parents' adoring eyes are feasting on you? Please? And try not to clam up for the camera so much. Thanks for understanding! ;)
Do I get a cool Camelot-esque name too? After all I am little Lancelot's aunt. Have a lovely day frolicking in the Kingdom!

I've missed a whole bunch of my second child's milestones. You just can't catch every single thing. My husband missed the first time our first daughter rolled over, too. It happens. Soon he will be doing it all the time and you will catch other milestones. :)
I hate missing milestone, which is glad I'm a SAHM because I fortunately don't miss most of them. Though other day, Hubby claims Bode said both "Mama and Dada." He has yet to put forth a repeat performance on the former.
Congrats on your little guy achieving a milestone, and what a sneaky little devil to do it while you weren't looking. Don't worry, he's bound to do it again soon!
I know what you mean, happened to us too. They suddenly just decide they can do something, in the blink of an eye, no warning whatsoever! Sometimes I feel like I need to permanently wear the camera and camcorder.
