My Baby is Gone

I'm a little sad. My baby is gone. He's a big boy now. He can walk, he can communicate many many things even without knowing the words, and he's an independent spirit.

I'm going to wallow a bit in bittersweet nostalgia for the days that aren't too far behind me. They might as well have been a lifetime ago.

Awwww...he looks like a LITTLE MAN! I just finished one of Karen Kingsbury's books in the Redemption Series. In it, the Mother reflects on her son on the eve of his wedding. She talks about how we celebrate the "firsts" in their lives, but we really don't pay attention to the "lasts" until they are gone...like the last bottle, the last daytime nap, the last time they crawl, etc. Believe me, as a Mom of sons, it tore me UP!

Savor it friend...before long he'll be grown.

Hugs,

Susan

Toddlers are a blast! Just you wait and see.

This post is funny because I had this conversation with my friend the other day: when do I stop calling Bode my baby? She responded that she still called her 4-year-old her baby so we still have time!

What a beautiful little man!!! Those eyes will break hearts one of these days.
As Susan said, enjoy every minute because before you know it he will be 30 years old and married with his own child!!!

It's true - when those baby days are gone, they're GONE! But the upcoming stuff is so much fun, that you really won't have time to be that sad.

He is just so cute! I cannot believe that Jackson is already three months old myself!

I know soon I will be feeling exactly what you are, and that is definitely bittersweet.
