On This Day in History...

This day, four years ago, I wore the perfect white dress....

and carried a bouquet of flowers in the glorious colors of an autumn sunset, which is my very favorite thing to look at. Even though it was in the dead heat of summer.

This day, four years ago, I was a little irritated that my husband chose to wear a Winnie-the-Pooh tie on our wedding day. But then I thought about it, and realized it was cute and sweet, because he was just being himself.

This day, 4 years ago, I spoke words that would change my life forever.

This day, 4 years ago, I wore flip-flops. While it may have irritated my husband that I chose to wear flip-flops on our wedding day, after he thought about it he realized it was cute and sweet because I was just being myself.

Happy anniversary, honey! I love you more than you'll ever know.

Those are some huge flip flops! I wore black shoes that I already owned. Nobody even noticed.

Congrats on the anniversary!

His Winnie the Pooh tie and your flip flops. So sweet.

That truly is what marriage means. It's loving and accepting. It's enjoying the blissful times and enduring the hard times.

Happy anniversary.

You are a great couple, and JP and I are so glad to be your friends. Happy anniversary!

PS I wanted to wear white high-top sneakers under my wedding dress, on which I would have glued white lace and sequins. But JP's mother got a whiff of the idea and offered to buy me a pair of proper shoes. I ended up with ballet slippers. Truly the most uncomfortable thing to wear when you have to stand for a long time on a marble floor.

Those are the tallest flip flops I've ever seen! At least you didn't forget your shoes like I did :)

Happy happy anniversary! I love it that you each wore something that made you smile and allowed you to be yourselves! My 21st anniversary is coming up on the 15th of this month. It's amazing how time flies.

I hope you all celebrate well...after the tooth pain is gone.

:-) Susan

I love the white flip flops! Much more comfy than the white satin numbers I wore almost 15 years ago. Ahhh, young love. But believe me, it can last!
