Temper Tantrum, Anyone?

He's not even 9 months old yet.

My precious, sweet, long-lashed heartbreaker of a son has an evil twin.

He's learned to throw a temper tantrum.

There is a particular piece of furniture in our home on which he likes to try and pull himself up to a standing position. The problem is, this piece of furniture is very lightweight. He's pulled it on top of himself and fallen three times already. Hubby and I are trying to teach him not to pull himself up from that table. As he lifts a hand to grab it, we gently remove the hand, give it a little smack, and say a firm, "No."

He doesn't like that very much. He throws himself facedown on the floor and screams.

I'm going to have my hands FULL when he's a toddler!!

When they are toddlers they are much stronger. Just try to ignore the temper tantrum. If he doesn't get his way and he doesn't get a rise out of you, he'll stop, eventually. Isn't it just so much fun! :)

Oh my goodness, what you have to look forward to! The good news is at least he's trying to walk...I think :-).

Thanks for posting about my contest btw! :-)

I'd take Lance's tantrum over Fly's tantrum any day!

Like your new look!

Wow, love the new look.

Be consistent, it will pay off. Sometimes distractions help too, "Oh look at this toy," and place him far away from that piece of furniture.

Bode throws them every time I'm busy and won't pick him up. Let the fun begin. :-)

Don't worry about toddlerhood just yet. If you guys stick to your guns with this one, he may very well learn that "no means no" and will quit attempting tantrums in the first place.... they just need the chance to learn - and waiting that out is hard! Keep at it.

and thanks for stopping by my latest weight-loss post. I will say a few prayers for you this week that you will have the will and the desire to stick to your plans this week.
